The CARE Center (Child Abuse Response & Evaluation) is a non-profit organization and Nationally Accredited Child Advocacy Center serving Oklahoma County. We help by educating children and helping them heal after abuse. We provide comprehensive education and prevention programs as well as healing opportunities that aid in the investigation and prosecution of abuse cases.

MISSION

Every child has a future; we educate.
Every child has a voice; we listen.

Why the CARE Center is Important

1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys are abused in the state of Oklahoma. We are the only child abuse advocacy center in Oklahoma County offering a seamless effort towards a child’s healing after abuse.

SERVICES PROVIDED

We educate children through a two-tiered program called ROAR.  We teach parents and adults about how they can protect their children and report abuse.  Children learn about personal body safety.  Through our Victim Services program, children participate in a video-recorded interview that is conducted in child friendly, age-appropriate setting where the emphasis is on the child’s comfort and obtaining accurate information for the investigation and prosecution process. Specialized advocacy occurs for every caregiver and child, including resources, and referrals that alleviate barriers to the child’s healing. Medical exams are offered to every child on our campus to encourage holistic healing. Counseling is the key to long term healing and the CARE Center offers this resource for the child’s lifetime. All our services are free.

STAFF & TEAM

At the CARE Center, children and their families will find a team of compassionate, sensitive professionals who come together to meet the needs of children through education and victim services. We are a team of real people who give their lives to serve those needing protection and help. Our team is made up of law enforcement investigators, child protective service workers, assistant district attorneys, medical and family advocacy personnel, education and outreach staff and volunteers.  This team works together on the investigation, treatment, management and prosecution of child abuse cases, ensuring the best possible outcome, while creating a caring, supportive, and safe environment for children and their families.
